ADVENTS

Formed in late 2017, Kuala Lumpur-based four piece Advents blend their reverbed, melodious and rollicking sound with melancholic songwriting sensibilities. As an endeavour to perform for a high school gig, the genre-neutral band was formed on Whatsapp with Eimann Arif on lead vocals and guitar alongside Shawin Albert on lead guitar. After scouring for band members through mutuals, the two were joined by bassist Nadree Omar and drummer Izaaq Izham.

Refusing to partake in inequitable band startups in the industry, they were set out to do things independently. They dedicate a majority of their time playing Minecraft and creating music. The band hopes that their songs own an evocative quality of the past and resonate with listeners worldwide.
